It had been a while since the Boston Celtics last lost a game.
To be more accurate, it had been five weeks since that last happened.
With that 38-point loss to the Dallas Mavericks, the Celtics lost their first game since May 9th.
As shown by Yahoo Sports on Twitter, they had won ten consecutive games before Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

The Celtics had a cakewalk to the biggest stage.
First, they faced the Miami Heat without Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier, taking care of business in just five games.
Then, they handled the Cleveland Cavaliers without Jarrett Allen and Donovan Mitchell in five games as well.
Then, with Tyrese Haliburton missing the final two games of the series, it wasn’t much of a surprise to see them sweeping them in just four games.
The Celtics hadn’t dropped a game since Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
That’s despite going against one of the most dominant teams in the playoffs, as the Dallas Mavericks were fresh off taking down three top-tier opponents in the West.
The Celtics took care of business in no time, and that allowed them to heal and restore their bodies ahead of the most crucial moment in the season.
Needless to say, that’s a massive edge, as they had ten days of rest before the start of the NBA Finals.
Now, they’re just one win away from raising their league-best 18th NBA championship banner, but they cannot afford to extend this series any further.
