The Boston Celtics are currently considered to be the cream of the crop in the NBA, with the team’s offseason moves seemingly already paying off, as Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday have proven to be ideal fits for the storied franchise.
Even though the Celtics didn’t know exactly what they’d get with Porzingis, as he’s dealt with numerous injury problems throughout his NBA career thus far.
Fortunately for Boston, Porzingis has been the missing piece to the offensive puzzle for the Celtics, while Holiday has helped bolster the defense alongside Derrick White.
Unfortunately, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, Porzingis is now dealing with a calf injury, but he doesn’t believe it is too serious.
Kristaps Porzingis tells the Globe he’ll have an MRI on his left calf to tomorrow but doesn’t think the injury is too serious. Said he felt a tweak running the floor. Did not slip. #Celtics #Magic.

Hopefully, for the Celtics’ sake, the injury that Porzingis has sustained won’t result in a lot of missed time, as that could prove costly to the team moving forward.
Porzingis is currently averaging 19.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game while shooting a team-best 55.3% from the floor and 32.9% from beyond the arc.
As a result of Porzingis’ solid play alongside Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Holiday, the Celtics are sporting a record of 12-4 while sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings ahead of the upstart Orlando Magic (11-5), who have been red-hot lately.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for the Celtics this season and whether Porzingis can stay healthy for the majority of the 2023-24 NBA regular season and well into the NBA playoffs because Boston will need him every step of the way.
