The Boston Celtics got a big boost to their offense this offseason.

Trading for Kristaps Porzingis gives them the kind of scoring big man they’ve craved for a long time, as he can score from all three levels, just like Al Horford, but is a much more aggressive scorer in that regard.

However, Porzingis may not be the only scoring big they have on the court this season.

According to NBC Sports’ Chris Forsberg (via NBACentral), Robert Williams III is also looking forward to expanding his offensive game.

He’s reportedly working out with skills trainer Aaron Miller, looking to polish his offensive game, so he can be more “selfish” with the basketball, as some of his teammates have demanded of him in the past couple of years.

Notably, Williams has always been a defensive force worth being reckoned with, a dominant rebounder — despite being undersized — and an outstanding rim protector.

Nevertheless, he’s rarely given the Celtics anything on the offensive end of the floor aside from putbacks, dunks, or alley-oops.

It’s hard to envision Williams becoming a stretch-five all of a sudden, and the Celtics might be better off if he doesn’t even try to spot up or pull up from beyond the arc next season or try to do way more than he can actually do.

But having him being somewhat of an offensive factor could open up a lot of lanes for them, even if they won’t exactly draw up plays for him.
