The Los Angeles Chargers knew they had to make some significant changes in the offseason.

After another year with a subpar finish, the Chargers took a deep look at their roster and made several moves.

Losing their top two wide receivers might not have been a part of the plan, as Keenan Allen and Mike Williams are on different teams

However, an overhaul was needed, and perhaps starting fresh is what they most needed.

John Harbaugh, of course, has taken over as head coach, which should help this team get to the next level.

One of the ways they are seemingly planning to do that is to run the ball a lot.

Justin Herbert has been under a lot of pressure to succeed in the first few seasons of his young career, needing to throw a lot of balls for the Chargers to have a fighting chance in games.

However, they made two marked investments at running back at the beginning of the offseason: adding J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards into the fold.

Both players are expected to have a significant role, and there could be a third running back in the mix that could contribute in a big way.

According to the Chargers’ official page on X, Jaret Patterson has officially been added to their practice squad.

we’ve signed RB Jaret Patterson to our practice squad and released RB Isaiah Spiller.

There’s no telling if Patterson will ever see the active roster, but he did gain valuable experience on the Washington Commanders.

Three running back sets are not uncommon, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him thrown into the gameplan.
