The Minnesota Timberwolves appeared to establish themselves as the favorites to represent the Western Conference in the 2024 NBA Finals after they took down the Denver Nuggets in seven games.
With a mix of physical defense, shooting, and the rise of Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves have all the ingredients to become an NBA champion.
However, they currently face a 0-2 series deficit in the Western Conference Finals after dropping Game 2 to the Dallas Mavericks in demoralizing fashion.
Minnesota was coasting through the first half as they built a double-digit lead and got it up to as much as 18 in the second half before Dallas came storming back.
Luka Doncic sent the Timberwolves’ faithful home with a bad taste in their mouths after he sunk the game-winning 3-pointer over Rudy Gobert.
After the game, Charles Barkley sent a harsh message to the Minnesota fans, via CJ Fogler.
“Go home, we’ll see you next year,” Barkley said to some fans.

Barkley’s comments aren’t going to go over well with the Timberwolves fans who believe their team still has a chance, but it’s hard to envision how they come back from it after losing home-court advantage entirely.
Now, Minnesota will need to go on the road and steal at least one game to keep their postseason hopes alive.
However, that’s much easier said than done considering the Mavericks have two legitimate closers in Kyrie Irving and Doncic who can take over a game at the flip of a coin.
The Timberwolves can’t be counted out just yet, though their path to the Finals is much more challenging than it was before.
