The Philadelphia 76ers are lucky their MVP candidate was able to finish Thursday’s Game 3.

Joel Embiid was assessed a flagrant foul for kicking Nic Claxton in the groin area.

Claxton scored a basket on Embiid and then proceeded to stand over him.

Then Embiid retaliated with the kick.

But, due to what we saw in the Warriors-Kings series, Embiid should have probably been ejected.

Warriors forward Draymond Green was ejected in Game 2 for stepping on Domantas Sabonis.

Even though, Sabonis was holding his ankle and not allowing him to run.

Charles Barkley believed that what Embiid did was worse than Green.

Hoop Central posted the video of how Barkley felt about Embiid’s kick.

Charles Barkley on Joel Embiid’s kick:

“I think his was worse than Draymond’s, to be honest with you.”

It is not a great look for the NBA that Green got ejected from the game and suspended, while Embiid was only assessed a flagrant foul.

But, the officiating in the NBA has been a problem all year.

It is very inconsistent and differs from game to game.

You would think since it is the playoffs the NBA would want its best players on the court.

Instead, it wanted to make an example of Green and keep him out of the most important game of the Warriors’ season.

Still, the Warriors were able to win the game without Green.

If they went down 0-3 due to a Green being suspended, there would have been many people unhappy.

The NBA has a problem on its hands with the officiating.

They must find a way to keep it consistent.
