The Minnesota Timberwolves have a leader, a special talent, and perhaps the future face of the NBA.
Anthony Edwards has proven to be every bit of the superstar player scouts thought he could be, and it didn’t take long before he proved to be the real deal.
Unsurprisingly, that has led to a massive hype train, comparisons with former legends of the game, and whatnot.
Given his evident resemblance to Michael Jordan, and his similar demeanor, people have often compared him to No. 23, even jokingly stating that he must be an unclaimed child of His Airness.
That’s why Charles Barkley has officially had enough.
Right before tip-off ahead of Game 4 of their first-round series vs. the Denver Nuggets, the Hall of Famer urged people to stop it already, going as far as to say that Edwards wasn’t even close to Jordan right now (via NBA on TNT).

To be fair, that’s exactly what Edwards said of the comparisons as well, so people shouldn’t rush to call Barkley out on this one.
Truth be told, it’s highly unlikely that anyone has compared Edwards to prime Michael Jordan, but there are some evident similarities between the two.
Then again, every player is unique, and that desperation and need to make today’s youngsters exactly like those who came before them may not allow them to grow and develop into the players they should’ve always been.
Edwards is his own player, and he’s only going to get better.
