The Washington Commanders haven’t made the playoffs since the 2020 season, and they haven’t won a postseason game since the 2005 campaign.
Many people are expecting them to miss the playoffs again this coming season, but their players don’t want to listen to any naysayers.
Defensive end Chase Young recently appeared on “Up & Adams” and talked about the expectations for his team’s defensive line, and he said that everyone there needs to eat.
What is the ceiling for the @Commanders D-Line this year?@youngchase907: “…We ALL need each other to EAT.”

The Commanders defense was fairly strong last season, as they finished seventh in points allowed and third in total yards allowed.
Young played in just three games as he has been hampered by injuries the last two years, but they also have Pro Bowlers in defensive tackles Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne, who both had strong campaigns.
That defense will need to perform at a high level again this season if Washington is to have any chance of returning to the playoffs.
They have a neophyte at quarterback in Sam Howell, who appeared in just one game in 2022 as a rookie, and their running game was less than stellar, as they ranked 28th in rushing yards per attempt.
The NFC East will be very competitive, as the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to return to the Super Bowl, the Dallas Cowboys have a strong roster, and the New York Giants want to build on a surprising 2022 season.
However, the rest of the conference lacks depth, and if Young bounces back and has a great year, it could give the Commanders the opening they need to sneak into the playoffs.
