Bronny James of the Los Angeles Lakers had multiple rough Summer League games over the last week, but he may have turned a corner.
Following a strong 13-point game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night, Oklahoma City Thunder star Chet Holmgren gave James great praise.
“Looked like a pro,” Holmgren tweeted on Thursday evening.

During Thursday’s game, James scored 13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks, shooting 50% from the field.
It was a good game for the incoming rookie and followed another strong one only nights before.
During Wednesday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, James totaled 12 points, 1 rebound, and 1 steal.
This came after days of bad press for James, whose time in the Summer League got off to a rough start.
Although he was consistently showing powerful defensive skills, James was lacking on offense and had numerous Lakers fans shaking their heads.
But something clicked in James over the last several days and he has been looking a lot better.
Now people are wondering if he can keep it up and carry it into the regular season.
When he was drafted last month, countless people had high hopes for James and envisioned him playing alongside his father in the regular season.
But his painful performances in the Summer League left many people assuming he would be headed to the G League for most of 2024-25.
Will these last two games be enough to earn James a spot on the Lakers’ roster in the regular season?
Holmgren is happy to support the incoming rookie and other NBA stars will be celebrating him too.
But that doesn’t mean that James’ difficulties in the Summer League have been forgotten.
