There was a lot of hype in the league around Chet Holmgren, who eventually fell to the No. 2 spot in the 2022 NBA Draft.
The Oklahoma City Thunder took him over Jabari Smith Jr., and judging by their intel, they would’ve still chosen him over Paolo Banchero, who went No. 1.
But the fans couldn’t get to see their prized rookie on the floor when it actually counted last season, as he was ruled out for the whole year with a non-contact foot injury suffered at a Pro-Am game in Seattle.
Holmgren is back to full strength and impressed in his Summer League debut this week.
More importantly, he wanted to put the word out there that it’s just like that right foot injury never happened, as he feels completely fine and has suffered no setbacks thus far.

There was a point last season when insiders rumored that Holmgren could make his debut, but Sam Presti decided to play it safe with his rookie, as he usually does.
Holmgren got to spend the whole season watching tape, hitting the gym, and bulking up to try and get ready for what might as well turn out to be a stellar debut campaign.
He’s been a superstar at every single level he’s played before making it to the league, and while injuries could always be a concern with a player of his size and weight, he might as well be just what Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the new-look Thunder needed to go back to postseason contention.
