Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder was supposed to be one of the breakout rookies last season.
Instead, he didn’t play a single game due to injury.
Now, he is on the verge of finally playing his first season in the NBA and is doing some serious work in the Summer League to prepare.
According to StatMuse, during his first two Summer League games, Holmgren averaged 12.5 points, 10 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks.

When Holmgren took the court a few days ago, fans were nervous by what they initially saw.
In the opening minutes of his first game, Holmgren was looking a bit sloppy and was making some rookie mistakes.
But he got the hang of it quickly and was soon one of the most dominant forces on the Thunder’s roster.
Since then, he has remained consistent and is performing better.
Not only is he playing well, he is looking great too.
One of the biggest worries about Holmgren after the draft was his size: he appeared skinny and incapable of being physically competitive with NBA players.
He has certainly packed on some weight and has formed a good deal of muscle too.
Although he remains smaller than many others, he has obviously spent a great deal of time in the gym, hitting the weights and conditioning.
The Thunder had an impressive 2022-23 season, although they fell short of making an impact in the postseason.
They have several terrific young players who are surprising the NBA world and impressing their fanbase.
If he keeps playing like this, Holmgren could make his promising team even more promising.
