Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren has left some great impressions early in his NBA career.

This isn’t much of a surprise, as he’s been dominant at every single level before turning pro, and he had a full season on the shelf to learn the ropes of the game, watch film, and get ready for this campaign.

Even Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic was quite impressed by his game.

Nonetheless, Jokic did say that he thinks Holmgren needs to get ‘a little bit fatter’ to find success in the league, as he needs to endure the physicality of the game.

With that in mind, the former No. 2 pick responded to Jokic by stating that it’s hard to get fatter when you’re not fat at all (via HoopsHype).

Nikola Jokic on Chet Holmgren: “I think he needs to be a little bit fatter, to be honest.”

Needless to say, Holmgren didn’t even take Jokic’s advice as a shot or took offense at it, and Jokic is obviously not the first person that’s ever issued him such a recommendation.

Holmgren has already addressed his weight — or lack thereof — multiple times in the past.

In an interview with Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes for All The Smoke, he stated that he doesn’t want to add weight just for the sake of it, as he could end up hurting himself or getting slower.

Instead, he believes he’s going to bulk up naturally as he gets older and spends more time in the league.

Whatever the case, injuries will always be a concern with players with his build and body type, so let’s hope he can be the exception to that rule.
