The NBA family — and the Chicago Bulls — just lost a very beloved and respected figure.
While not the most popular name in today’s game, Chet Walker will always be remembered in the Windy City.
That’s why the organization took to social media to react to his passing at 84 years old.
Chet Walker wasn’t the most famous player in franchise history, but he is one of the greatest and boldest to grace the Chicago sports world.

He spent six seasons with the Bulls organization, helping them make the playoffs every single year.
He was a seven-time All-Star and a well-deserved inaugural member of the Bulls’ Ring of Honor.
A 6-foot-7 combo forward, he also helped the legendary Wilt Chamberlain win an NBA championship when they shared the court with the Philadelphia 76ers.
It’s been a while since the Bulls have been able to compete at the highest level, and plenty of that has had to do with the ownership’s reluctance to either go all-in in free agency or embrace a full rebuild.
That’s why it’ll be a long time before we see another player like Walker make an ever-lasting legacy in the Windy City.
May he rest in peace.
