The Kansas City Chiefs had some obvious holes to fill this offseason despite winning their second consecutive Super Bowl a few months ago and third in five years.

KC added a big piece to its wide receiver room by drafting Xavier Worthy out of Texas with the 28th overall pick, but it is taking many more shots in an attempt to round out the roster in the UDFA market.

The Chiefs recently announced that they have signed 17 undrafted free agents at rookie minicamp.

The undrafted free agent class for the Chiefs includes only two wide receivers, Reggie Brown out of James Madison and Phillip Brooks out of Kansas State, as well as a pair of running backs from big-name programs.

UCLA’s Carson Steele and Emani Bailey of TCU are the two backs in camp for the Chiefs and could have a shot at making the roster due to the limited depth behind Isiah Pacheco aside from Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who just re-signed on a one-year deal.

One UDFA who might have a shot at making the team is former BYU punter Ryan Rehkow.

After winning a pair of Super Bowls, punter Tommy Townsend left KC to sign with the Houston Texans this offseason.

The Chiefs have replaced him by signing Matt Araiza, who has just as much NFL experience as Rehkow does.

UDFAs are always a fun subplot to follow heading into training camp, as you never know who might catch on and get the attention of a front office somewhere.
