The Kansas City Chiefs are walking on clouds right now.

The team just won its second Super Bowl ring in the past four seasons, and they figure to be the biggest force in the AFC until proven wrong.

And, while most of the attention has gone to Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce — and for very good reasons — the team’s defense also has quite a star leading the way.

Star DL Chris Jones continues to take strides every single season, but he’s still not satisfied with that.

Recently, the Super Bowl champion took to Twitter to vow he would win MVP next season; quite a bold statement for a defensive player.

I’m going to Win MVP

This isn’t the first bold declaration that he’s made this offseason.

The four-time All-Pro recently claimed that he would never sign with another franchise, citing that he intends to be a Kansas City Chief for life.

Moreover, he also stated that former Chief Tyreek Hill would have a tough time in his comeback to Arrowhead Stadium shortly after Cheetah’s promise of giving them hell next season.

Jones has become a stalwart for Steve Spagnuolo’s defense since entering the league in 2016.

He had a career-year last season and was a finalist for NFL Defensive Player of the Year after logging 17 tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, and 15.5 sacks in 2022.

He’s currently signed to a four-year, $80 million contract extension with $60 million guaranteed, so he’ll have plenty of time to try and become the first defensive player to win MVP since the legendary Lawrence Taylor did it back in 1986.
