The first game of the second-round playoff series between the Los Angeles Lakers and defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors is officially in the books, with LeBron James and company coming out on top in San Francisco.
Although the game went back and forth, with both teams at one point having the lead in Game 1, the Lakers took control late in the game on Tuesday night and got the win on the road.
However, things could’ve turned out differently if Warriors guard Jordan Poole had hit an open three-pointer with the game hanging in the balance.
Poole’s shot selection has gotten a fair amount of criticism today, and for good reason, but Chris Broussard of Fox Sports thinks there was nothing wrong with the young guard taking the shot, which could’ve helped change the outcome in Game 1.
“I’m with Kerr, Steph and Draymond. I have no problems whatsoever with Jordan Poole’s shot.”

Although Poole has struggled at times in the postseason thus far, the 23-year-old played well in 30 minutes off the bench for the Warriors in Game 1.
Poole shot 7-for-15 against the Lakers on Tuesday night and went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc.
The Michigan product was one of three players on the team to hit at least six threes in Game 1 for the Warriors, with the two others being Klay Thompson (6-for-16) and Stephen Curry (6-for-13).
As a team, the Warriors shot 39.6% from three, which isn’t all that bad, but the team still ultimately fell to the Lakers and will hope to tie the series at one game apiece in Game 2 on Thursday in San Francisco before the series shifts to Los Angeles.
