Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors put yet another notch on his belt when he went supernova in Game 7 against the Kings on Sunday and scored 50 points to lead his team to a 120-100 victory on the road.

It put the Warriors into the Western Conference semifinals, where they will face LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in what should be a thrilling series.

For the last 10 months or so, people have been debating Curry’s place among the sport’s all-time greats, and Chris Broussard said on Monday on “First Things First” that Curry is an “unimpeachable” pick to be in the top 10 of greatest NBA players ever.

“It’s unimpeachable that Steph is in the Top 10.”

Last season was like an affirmation of Curry’s greatness and all that he has ever done, as he led the Warriors to the NBA championship after overcoming a 2-1 series deficit against the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.

He poured in 43 points and 10 rebounds in the pivotal Game 4 that turned the series around for Golden State, and he ended up taking home series MVP honors, giving him the one individual award he had lacked.

Prior to the championship, some had doubted whether Curry could come through and play at a very high level under pressure, but he did exactly that while being surrounded by a younger and more inexperienced cast than the one he had for his first three titles.

After a very desultory regular season, perhaps the Warriors are regaining their mojo, and although their next matchup with L.A. will be a big test, they’re surely up for the challenge.
