The Los Angeles Lakers started the season with high hopes, and after making it to the Western Conference Finals, they liked their chances to be even better this year.
That hasn’t been the case thus far.
Despite what he said, coach Darvin Ham has had to play LeBron James over 36 minutes a night just to have a chance to stay in the game.
Anthony Davis has been fairly efficient and made his presence felt on both ends of the floor, but once again, he’s at serious risk of missing time.
Davis left the game vs. the Miami Heat with a hip injury and was in evident pain afterward.
That’s why renowned sports analyst Chris Broussard stated that the Lakers are in serious trouble if Davis cannot play and has a serious injury (via First Things First).
“The Lakers are not good enough to withstand AD missing 35 games.”

Broussard explained that Davis has missed an average of 35 games in the past three seasons, adding that his Lakers team simply isn’t good enough to get by without him.
Truth be told, LeBron James can no longer single-handedly lead this team to wins.
He’s never been able to do that since arriving in Southern California, and that’s understandable because of his age and how tougher the Western Conference is compared to the Eastern Conference, where he accomplished most of his career accolades.
Expecting that from a 39-year-old isn’t good asset management or team planning, especially if you consider the fact that his sidekick has missed almost half a season in the past three campaigns.
