The Carolina Panthers recently traded up to the top spot in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft, with the franchise having its sights set on bringing in a quarterback.

The draft currently has four quarterbacks making the most noise ahead of the draft on April 27, with the Panthers picking among those four, including Will Levis, Anthony Richardson, C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young.

The consensus is that one of those four players will go No. 1 to Carolina, but until now, no insider has been adamant about which quarterback that would be.

According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen via Panthers On Tap, the Panthers will take Young with the top pick.

Chris Mortensen: Bryce Young is the pick. They (Panthers) all love Bryce Young.

Young seems like the smart pick, with the Alabama product checking many boxes that NFL teams love.

However, his size, 5’10” and nearly 200 pounds, is concerning for teams, with durability being crucial at the quarterback position.

The Panthers may be content with Young’s size and or weren’t blown away by what they saw from Stroud, Richardson and Levis.

Although Mortensen claims the Panthers will take Young at No. 1, there are still a few weeks left for that stance to change, as players tend to move up and down draft boards the closer it gets to draft day.

Teams will continue doing their due diligence in the coming weeks as they try to narrow down their options.

It’ll be interesting to see if quarterback-needy teams in the league try to move up to get their hands on Young or another prospect.
