The San Antonio Spurs likely won’t be a playoff team next season, but they will be significantly better than they were.
They acquired a couple of veterans in Harrison Barnes and, above all things, a playmaking point guard.
Chris Paul is clearly one of the greatest passers this game has ever seen, and while he’s not the player he used to be at this point in his career, he should still be an improvement for this squad.
With that in mind, the future Hall of Famer shared his excitement about this new chapter of his career in a clip posted by the Spurs’ social media account.

Paul claimed that he never thought he would get an opportunity to play for Gregg Popovich, adding that he was quite excited.
Truth be told, this was a somewhat surprising decision by Paul, who had been waived by the Golden State Warriors and was a free agent.
He’s well aware of the fact that the Spurs likely won’t give him an opportunity to pursue the ring he so deserves, but the prospect of playing with Wembanyama and for coach Pop may have been too enticing.
If healthy, he could take Wembanyama’s offense to a whole new level, and that’s something worth tuning in for.
