Chris Paul of the Golden State Warriors played his last game of the 2023-24 season on Tuesday night, logging 3 points, 1 rebound, and 3 assists during 18 minutes.

With so many questions swirling around the Warriors, there is a big one about Paul: will he return?

Speaking with Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the 12-time All-Star said his NBA career isn’t over.

“This isn’t it. I know it for sure,” Paul said, confirming he will not be retiring.

Paul turns 39 years old next month and has seen his time on the court diminish over the years due to various injuries but he isn’t done playing.

He is under contract with the Warriors for next season but that doesn’t mean that he or the team might not decide it’s time to part ways in the summer.

After their defeat and exit Tuesday, there are many possibilities ahead for Golden State.

Just about everyone who doesn’t have the last name Curry could be on the trade block and the team could look radically different when next season begins.

Paul has done some good work for the Warriors during his first season with the team, averaging 9.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game on 44.1% from the field.

He could still be an enticing trade prospect for multiple teams, which is why the Warriors might deal him away.

No matter what happens with the Warriors this summer, it is clear that Paul isn’t ready to hang up his jersey yet.

He wants to keep playing in the NBA, whether with Golden State or another team.

The Warriors have a very tight budget and are looking to cut some costs this summer, so there is a chance that Paul will be continuing his basketball career with a different squad in 2024-25.
