The Los Angeles Lakers have been conducting a head coaching search since they fired Darvin Ham.

Ham was supposed to help this team reach new heights, but after a few failed attempts at winning the title together, they were unable to make it happen.

Now, they are back to the drawing board, where a few head coaching candidate’s names have been highlighted.

The most recent frontrunner is Dan Hurley, the former head coach of the UConn men’s basketball team.

Hurley’s name being in the mix has already received a lot of kudos from players across the league, including Chris Paul.

Paul recently appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, where he talked about what Hurley could mean for this team.

“I got so much respect for him… Not just how he coaches, but how his players respond to him,” Paul said.

Paul, a longtime NBA veteran, seems to have a lot of built-in respect for Hurley.

If he believes that Hurley will be a positive influence on this team, it speaks wonders of what it could mean for the Lakers over the next few years.

Of course, this assumes that the Lakers will keep their current roster together, which is spearheaded by LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

If they can keep their core together and operate under a coach of Hurley’s caliber, there’s no telling what their ceiling could be moving forward.

The Lakers are a historic franchise with a rich history of winning and success, and they’d like to get back to that place as soon as possible.
