The Golden State Warriors were quite active this past summer as they made several moves to bolster the roster.

One of the most shocking moves of the offseason was the Warriors trading for Chris Paul in exchange for Jordan Poole.

Many fans were skeptical of the Warriors trading for the veteran point guard, but they seemed to be happy following his first game with the team.

In fact, Chris Paul was pleasantly surprised when he saw the fanbase cheering for him, as revealed via Warriors on NBCS on Twitter.

“It’s nice to hear the Golden State fans cheering for me for a change,” Paul said.

Paul has been one of the best point guards in the NBA for almost two decades.

While Paul has earned a lot of individual accolades during his career, he has never been an NBA champion.

The closest that Paul got was in 2021 when the Phoenix Suns lost in six games against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Fast forward to now, the 38-year-old recently donned the jersey of the Warriors for the first time in a preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Paul put up 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists in 13 minutes.

With the addition of Paul, the playmaking duties have been lifted from Stephen Curry, who can now focus on scoring while the former Suns star will take care of the floor general duties for the Warriors.

Is this the year that Paul finally becomes an NBA champion?

The Warriors certainly have one of the best rosters in the Western Conference.
