Dennis Rodman is one of the biggest characters in NBA history and as such, he’s made some bold comments throughout the years.
Rodman, for one, said that he would easily clamp LeBron James because he didn’t have any moves.
And recently, he went viral again for stating that Nikola Jokic is a much better player than Larry Bird ever was, adding that Bird would play in Europe nowadays and wouldn’t be able to beat LeBron one-on-one.
Needless to say, those comments didn’t sit well with Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, who took to ESPN to take shots at Rodman by saying that he couldn’t even score, so he wasn’t a good player.
.@MadDogUnleashed reacts to Dennis Rodman saying Larry Bird would’ve played in Europe, not the NBA, in the modern NBA era:

Notably, this is far from a surprise, as Russo has never stopped using the 1986 Boston Celtics as an example every single time he’s given a chance to discuss today’s game, so Rodman obviously hit a nerve right there.
To say that Dennis Rodman — one of the most dominant and meticulous defenders and rebounders in the history of basketball — wasn’t a good player because he wasn’t a scorer is rather controversial, just in the same way Rodman’s comments on Bird were.
Perhaps people should take both takes with a couple of grains of salt, as Rodman was never actually fond of Bird or his teams, and Russo is exactly the opposite.
Truth be told, Bird would thrive in any era, and so would Rodman, even without the scoring.
Oh, and Jokic may not be better than Bird is nowadays — to some — but he could end up being better once it’s all said and done.
