Chris Simms Gushes About Raiders Draft Pick

The Las Vegas Raiders entered the NFL Draft desperately needing a quarterback, and they couldn’t get one.

Slated to pick at No. 13, all the top six guys were gone by the time they were on the clock, and they didn’t address that need in the later rounds either, most likely because they didn’t see a difference-maker there.

Instead, they took a ‘best player available’ approach when they had a chance to pick at No. 13, going with Georgia TE Brock Bowers.

Notably, he’s one of Chris Simms’ favorite prospects, although he may not have phrased his reasoning that well.

Talking on ESPN, the NFL analyst stated that it’s not usual to see a white tight end with that kind of legs and butt (via Dov Kleiman).

Chris Simms is obsessed with #Raiders Brock Bowers body

“The body I love. It’s rare to see a white tight-end with that kind of legs and a**”

Needless to say, it didn’t take long before the clip went viral, and the fans had a lot to say about it on social media.

Even so, Simms has always gushed about body types; that’s a big part of his analysis, so he clearly didn’t mean that in a weird way.

The fact of the matter is that Bowers is, indeed, a special kind of talent.

While he’s not the physical presence that Rob Gronkowski was, Bowers is perhaps the greatest pass-catching tight-end prospect in league history.

He has to make big strides as a blocker, so he might also have to bulk up and add a little more muscle to the legs Simms raved about, but the Raiders acquired a prime weapon for whoever starts at quarterback for them.
