The Jacksonville Jaguars enter the 2023 season in a position they haven’t been in as often as they would want to.

The reigning AFC South Division champions are one of the biggest dark horses to come out of the AFC, and a lot of that has to do with their improving passing game.

They currently feature a starting WR trio of Zay Jones, Calvin Ridley, and Christian Kirk, perhaps one of the most well-rounded and dynamic cores in the league nowadays.

This isn’t the first time that Kirk has been a part of a very talented wideout group, as he shared the field with Larry Fitzgerald, DeAndre Hopkins, and even A.J. Green when he was with the Arizona Cardinals.

However, he still believes the Jaguars have the potential to be even better in that regard (Via Around the NFL):

“I’ve been a part of some special ones,” Kirk said on Tuesday, via the team’s official website. “I’ve been in the room with a couple Hall of Famers. We have the potential. I wouldn’t say we’re there yet, but we have the potential top to bottom, not only production-wise, but just from a professionalism and character standpoint. With the type of guys we have in our room, we definitely have everything that it takes to be special.”

The Jaguars faced plenty of mockery when they signed Kirk to such a big contract last offseason, but he responded in a big way.

He hauled in 84 receptions for 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns, all career-highs, all while topping the 90-yard plateau six times.

Doug Pederson’s team was one of just three teams to have three players with at least 750 receiving yards (Zay Jones, 823 & Evan Engram, 766 both career highs), joining the likes of the Los Angeles Chargers (Keenan Allen, Josh Palmer, Mike Williams), and Cincinnati Bengals (Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd).

Ridley was one of the best wide receivers in the game before serving that one-year suspension, and another leap by Trevor Lawrence could take this team to a whole new level in 2023.
