Madden is one of the most notable sports video games in the market.

Not only is this game named after the legendary coach John Madden, but it is played by millions of NFL fans around the world each year.

Due to the prestige and history of this game, being selected to be on the cover of Madden is viewed as a massive honor.

Christian McCaffrey was recently named the newest cover athlete for the game, the first running back featured as the primary player on the cover since Peyton Hillis.

As many fans are aware, there is such a thing as the “Madden curse.”

There have been a few players in recent history to be named the cover athlete, but either have a poor season after the honor, or some have gotten injured.

While this alleged curse is well-known around the league and among NFL fans, McCaffrey doesn’t seem worried about becoming the cover athlete.

He recently sat down with Tom Pelissero to discuss this distinction and indicated that the curse isn’t going to follow him.

“I’m not superstitious at all about it, I was so excited, man,” McCaffrey said.

No, Christian McCaffrey doesn’t believe in curses.

McCaffrey appears overjoyed to be on the cover of such a legendary game that has become a part of the NFL cultural zeitgeist.

He is gearing up to have another great season for the San Francisco 49ers, hoping to help lead them back to the Super Bowl and finish the job they were unable to do last year.

McCaffrey hasn’t had a major injury as a member of the 49ers, but if something happens to him this season, fans will almost certainly blame the Madden cover as the main reason for it.
