The Los Angeles Clippers are getting ready for the postseason.

That means making the most of every single roster spot they currently have.

With that in mind, they’ve decided to sign former Charlotte Hornets big man Kai Jones to a multi-year deal.

Needless to say, that means they have to make room for him on their active roster ahead of the playoffs.

That’s why they’ve made the call to cut G Josh Primo, who was averaging 16 points per game in the G-League before suffering a season-ending ankle injury, according to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski and Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.

ESPN Sources with @NotoriousOHM: Clippers are waiving G Josh Primo, who averaged 16 points in G League. He suffered a season-ending ankle injury that will keep him out until summer. Clips are nearing deal with another young player — center Kai Jones — to use roster spot before…

The Clippers had given Primo another chance after his shocking and infamous departure from the San Antonio Spurs.

Jones also had a tough time finding a new home.

The Hornets cut him after a string of head-scratching posts and Instagram live videos, up to the point where some fans were actually worried about him and his mental health.

The former No. 19 pick excelled in the G-League before getting the nod with the Philadelphia 76ers on a 10-day deal, and it seems like the Clippers liked what they saw from him.
