The NBA just passed a new rule that aims to limit the amount of load management a team can have during the season.

And there are already people speculating about which teams will be fined the most because of it.

According to BetOnline.ag, via NBACentral, the Los Angeles Clippers are favorites to receive the league’s first fine for resting players.

Nearly all NBA fans feel that this is a very likely possibility.

The league’s new rule says that no more than one star player may be unavailable during a game due to resting policy, or “load management.”

According to the league, a “star player” is someone who has been on an All-Star or an All-NBA team in any of the previous three seasons.

When this rule was created, fans instantly started to wonder how it would affect their favorite teams.

If the past is any indication, the Clippers clearly have a chance of being punished under this new regulation.

Both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are no strangers to injuries.

Because of that, they have also been rested plenty of times since joining the Clippers.

Last season saw multiple games when Leonard sat out even though he was seemingly healthy.

This was done because the conditioning staff was attempting to help him gently re-enter the league after a season away.

It was a prime example of load management and it angered and confused many fans.

In fact, the actions of the Clippers last season are part of the reason why the league made this rule in the first place.

Therefore, it stands to reason that the Clippers could soon be facing some financial repercussions unless they change their ways.
