James Harden did not test free agency and decided to opt in and come back to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Harden reportedly doesn’t want to play there anymore and would rather be traded, but Sixers GM Daryl Morey has other plans in mind.

He’s made it clear that he wants to team up with Russell Westbrook again and join the Los Angeles Clippers.

And even though the Clippers would obviously take him, a report by Kyle Neubeck of the Philly Voice (via NBA Central) states that they have been ‘unserious’ in trade talks for the former MVP.

The Clippers have been ‘unserious’ in trade talks for James Harden, per @KyleNeubeck

Apparently, it’s not that teams don’t value Harden; it’s just that they don’t want to give up everything to get him at this point in his career.

Not so long ago, Harden was one of the most dominant scorers in the game, and almost every team would’ve given whatever it took to get him.

But that’s no longer the case.

He’s aging, injury-prone, and comes with big baggage and a well-documented history of off-court issues.

The Clippers would be a serious championship contender with him joining Westbrook, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard, but the chances of them getting him without having to give up a lot of assets are pretty much close to zero.

As things stand out now, it seems like James Harden is going to start the season in Philadelphia, and barring a major turn of events, he’ll finish it there as well.
