The Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks recently matched up during the 2023-24 NBA season.
Despite the two teams being matched pretty evenly on paper, the Clippers annihilated the Mavericks in the game.
The final score was 107-88 in favor of the Clippers behind a solid performance from Paul George and Russell Westbrook.
As for the Mavericks, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving did play well, but they were ultimately left all alone against a good Clippers defense.
Anyway, after the game, Clippers guard Russell Westbrook ensured to praise Kyrie Irving via Legion Hoops on Twitter.
Russell Westbrook on Kyrie Irving:
“I respect him for everything that he stands for and stands on… I’m always thankful for him supporting me through everything since I’ve been in the league.”

There was a time when Russell Westbrook and Kyrie Irving were considered two of the best guards in the NBA.
While Westbrook is past his prime, Irving still has the ability to single-handedly win games for his team.
The two superstars have faced off against each other a plethora of times and are undoubtedly rivals, but that doesn’t mean they don’t share a mutual respect for one another.
In fact, as mentioned in the above-attached tweet, Irving has supported Westbrook from Day 1 in the NBA.
Anyway, let’s take a look at their stats during their most recent matchup in the NBA.
Irving put up 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists for the Mavericks in 32 minutes of playing time but still ended up on the losing side.
On the other hand, Westbrook’s impactful 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists off the bench helped the Clippers register their fourth win in their last five games in the season.
As a result, the Clippers have improved their record to 7-8, as they plan to get above the .500 mark in the coming days.
