The Los Angeles Clippers created a “Big 4” following the blockbuster trade for James Harden earlier this year.
Harden expressed his desire to join the Clippers at the start of the offseason as he demanded a move away from the Philadelphia 76ers.
After months of waiting, fans finally witnessed Harden in action while wearing a Clippers jersey.
Unfortunately for Harden, his debut was overshadowed by the Clippers’ embarrassing 111-97 defeat against the New York Knicks.
While many were critical of Harden’s debut, his teammate Paul George tried to lift his spirits up during a post-game interview via Joey Linn on Twitter.
“We’ll figure it out. First game. A lot of moving pieces. But it was fun, honestly,” George said.

Harden recorded 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists in his Clippers debut against the Knicks.
Moreover, the 10x NBA All-Star shot an efficient 6-9 from the field and 2-4 from the three-point line.
It was George who struggled the most during the loss, as he had just 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.
The biggest flaw in George’s performance against the Knicks was his subpar shooting, as he went an abysmal 2-11 from the field, including 1-6 from downtown.
George’s struggles ultimately held back the team and resulted in an embarrassing defeat for the Clippers.
But as George mentioned, with the arrival of Harden to the team, the Clippers will need to figure a lot of things out before they can play like a well-oiled machine.
Following their defeat, the Clippers fell to a 3-3 record, as they are currently the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
While it’s certainly not the ideal start for the Clippers, it’s better than having a losing record after the first six games of the season.
