The NBA community woke up to the ultimate shock on Tuesday.
Following months of speculation and drama, the Philadelphia 76ers finally moved on from James Harden, granting him his wish of trading him to the Los Angeles Clippers.
As expected, the Clippers had to part ways with several assets to land the former MVP.
The Clippers gave up Nicolas Batum, Robert Covington, Marcus Morris, KJ Martin, a 2028 unprotected first-round pick, two second-round picks, a 2029 pick swap, and an additional first-round pick that will be re-routed from the Oklahoma City Thunder, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Notably, it seems like Batum was already aware of his destiny, as he had shared a picture alongside Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George on Twitter, all while sharing the Clippers’ red and blue colors.

Batum will now head to his fifth NBA team.
He entered the league in 2008 with the Portland Trail Blazers before joining the Charlotte Hornets, Clippers, and now the 76ers.
He had barely played this season, averaging 2.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game on 18.0 minutes a night.
Perhaps that post was his way of saying goodbye to the team he’s played for since the 2020-21 campaign, or perhaps it was a welcome to his new team, considering they happen to share the same colors.
Whatever the case, this will be Batum’s final NBA season, as he already stated he’s going to retire after the Paris Olympics next offseason.
And while he might not be a big part of Philadelphia’s rotation going forward, he can still be a valuable veteran presence in the locker room.
