The Los Angeles Clippers were being picked by plenty of people to reach the NBA Finals this season, but they fizzled out after the All-Star break and went out with a whimper in the first round of the playoffs against the Dallas Mavericks.
They are facing a key offseason, as multiple key members of their roster can or will become free agents, including star forward Paul George.
Center Ivica Zubac has one year remaining on his contract, but according to Shams Charania, he will talk to the Clippers soon about an extension, per Evan Sidery.
The Clippers will soon discuss an extension with Ivica Zubac, per @ShamsCharania.
Zubac averaged 11.7 points and 9.4 rebounds while posting a 67.1 TS%.

Ever since arriving in a trade midway through the 2018-19 season, Zubac has usually been the Clippers’ starting center, and his wide frame has allowed him to get easy baskets when he establishes position deep in the paint.
He has a career shooting accuracy of 61.2 percent, and he can also protect the rim at times, as he averaged 1.2 blocked shots a game this season.
Other than Zubac, the Clippers don’t have much functional size on their roster up front, and losing him would be a sizable blow to their hopes of improving.
Despite a torrid stretch in December and January that caused the national media to fall head over heels in love with them once again, they won just 51 games and limped into the playoffs.
The Clippers will move into the brand-new Intuit Dome next season, and they will need to retain enough of their core in order to consistently put butts in seats at their new facility.
