The San Francisco 49ers have been sitting around lately and preparing for their playoff opener with the hope that it will be a stepping stone to their sixth Super Bowl championship.

They have been stuck on five titles for nearly 30 years, but they currently have the best roster they have possessed ever since the magical 1994 season that brought them world championship No. 5.

A big reason for their success lately has been star running back Christian McCaffrey, whom they traded for in the middle of last season.

Chris Foerster, the run game coordinator for San Francisco, had some huge praise for McCaffrey when he called him a “generational-type” player because of his preparation, per NBC Sports.

Foerster said McCaffrey’s preparation rivals that of legendary quarterback Peyton Manning and offensive lineman Jonathan Ogden, both of whom are Hall of Famers and were coached by him in the past.

The Niners running back led the NFL with 1,459 rushing yards and scored 14 rushing touchdowns and seven receiving touchdowns before sitting out the team’s regular-season finale.

He was named to both the Pro Bowl and All-Pro First-Team, and he is the strong favorite to take home the Offensive Player of the Year award.

McCaffrey isn’t just a powerful runner, but he is a true dual-threat tailback who can not only catch screen passes but also line up as a wide receiver and run actual routes.

The 49ers will face the upstart Green Bay Packers in the Divisional round on Saturday, and McCaffrey will look to take advantage of a Packers defense that was just 28th in rushing yards allowed during the regular season.
