The market for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields – should they decide to trade him – is one of the biggest questions of the NFL offseason.

Teams could be interested in Fields this offseason, but the price at which they’d be willing to pay to acquire him varies depending on who is reporting the information.

Some have connected Fields to the Atlanta Falcons, a team located near Fields’ hometown of Kennesaw, Georgia, and which is in desperate need of a quarterback.

But Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd doesn’t think the Falcons should give up much for Fields since he has played only a little bit better than the team’s current starting quarterback, Desmond Ridder.

“To this point, Justin Fields’ career is like Desmond Ridder,” Cowherd said. “Right now, he’s a more athletic Desmond Ridder. That’s what the numbers tell you.”

Now, the numbers aren’t that dissimilar between the two despite Ridder playing one fewer season than Fields, and the Bears quarterback has certainly been better at running the football than Ridder.

So this comparison is a bit of an indictment of Field’s trade value for a Bears team that could be looking to cash in on their former first-round pick before they draft his replacement with the No. 1 pick.

A lot can change between now and the NFL draft in April, including Chicago deciding to keep Fields for another year.

But between now and whenever the Bears make a decision, there will be a copious amount of conjecture on what should be done with Fields and which other teams should go out and try to acquire him to lead their respective team.
