After an incredible run to the Super Bowl and winning it all by getting the best of the Philadelphia Eagles in the big game, the Kansas City Chiefs came into the 2023 NFL season with high hopes of being able to defend their title and potentially win another ring in the Patrick Mahomes era of the franchise.
Even though the team is on the verge of winning another AFC West division title and will be playoff-bound once again, the Chiefs aren’t the dominant team that everyone is used to seeing on an annual basis, as the wide receiver position has become a persistent problem.
The four losses on the season thus far for the Chiefs have been strange, to say the least, with each game outside of the loss to the Eagles seeming like an easy win for Andy Reid and company heading into the matchup.
Along with losing to the Eagles, the Chiefs fell to the Detroit Lions in the season opener, adding two perplexing losses to the Denver Broncos and most recently to the Green Bay Packers.
Despite the Chiefs not looking like a team that can go the distance this season, Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports believes Kansas City will go to the Super Bowl this season, with no team in the AFC able to contend with them in the NFL playoffs, via “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.”
“Kansas City is getting to the Super Bowl… This is starting to remind me of the Tom Brady Tampa year.”

With Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals being done for the season and Jacksonville Jaguars star Trevor Lawrence going down on Monday Night Football, the AFC isn’t exactly stacked with talent, as perhaps only the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens can give them a run for their money.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out and whether Cowherd is right about his Chiefs prediction.
