The Los Angeles Lakers made the massive decision to draft Bronny James in the second round of this year’s NBA Draft.

Naturally, a lot of people are going to come at that move with a lot of negativity.

However, Fox Sports’s Colin Cowherd doesn’t mind the choice.

“LeBron James has carried the league for 20 years…I think his son is a G-Leaguer…He’s a low-end rotational player…I’m not losing sleep over it,” Cowherd recently stated on The Herd.

“I take you the airport. You’re buying the next dinner… LeBron James has carried the NBA for 20 years.”

Cowherd is illustrating that because of how successful the NBA has become with LeBron James at the center of it all, it isn’t the worst thing for his son to be drafted by the team that he plays for.

Like Cowherd also illustrated, Bronny James could be a rotational piece at some point.

No draft pick is ever a guarantee.

Bronny James is a former McDonald’s All-American.

He has plenty of talent to try and build off of at the professional level.

It is understandable that casual fans might look at his one year of college basketball at USC and say that he can’t make it in the NBA.

He averaged under five points per game and started just six games for the Trojans.

But, that doesn’t mean his abilities cannot translate to the NBA.

It will be interesting to see if he can grow as a player this summer and try to make an impact on the Lakers in the next few years.
