Patrick Mahomes showed once more why he’ll likely go down as one of the best football players of all time after he orchestrated the Kansas City Chiefs’ return to the Super Bowl for the second consecutive season and the fourth time in five years.
In a season where his teammates dropped passes and his opponents sometimes got the better of him, Mahomes played up to the level that many have come to expect from a two-time MVP and Super Bowl winner.
And after Mahomes’ most recent performance against the Baltimore Ravens, Colin Cowherd was ready to anoint the Chiefs quarterback as the greatest of all time.
“I will never doubt Patrick Mahomes again,” Cowherd said. “… I’m watching the greatest football player that’s ever played.”

Mahomes didn’t light up the scoreboard, but he didn’t have to as he marched down the field on multiple drives to lead the Chiefs over the Ravens.
As his defense stymied Lamar Jackson on one end, Mahomes kept the Ravens’ defense at bay with mistake-free football and crisp passes at the right time.
His next battle will be with a team he knows well in the San Francisco 49ers, as Mahomes and the Chiefs took them down several seasons ago in their first Super Bowl win.
This team is a bit different than the 2019 version, but will nevertheless be a quality opponent for Kansas City.
Mahomes can extend his already impressive resume and legacy with his third Super Bowl victory in two weeks, just six seasons after he became the team’s full-time starting quarterback.
