Earlier in the offseason, everybody raved about the Los Angeles Chargers and the fact that they had landed Jim Harbaugh.

However, it seems like the frenzy has passed already.

Given their unproven wide receivers situation, some believe it might take a while before this team is a legitimate contender.

That’s not the case with Colin Cowherd.

Talking to John Middlekauf on The Volume, Cowherd argued that it wouldn’t be crazy to see the Chargers earning a top-3 seed in the AFC (via Chargers Central).

Collin Cowherd on the Chargers upcoming season led by Jim Harbaugh, predicting they will be a top-3 seed in the AFC:

“I look at the Chargers and people kind of lament their wide receivers … if you look at everywhere Harbaugh has been; I mean, you can go to Stanford — Doug… pic.twitter.com/DWWpkiG4i2

As much as he agreed that their wide receivers room wasn’t particularly impressive, that’s just the way Jim Harbaugh’s teams have been more often than not.

The lack of talent at wide receiver has always been the knock on Harbaugh’s teams, and he most definitely knows how to win regardless of that.

The Chargers managed to keep their playmakers on defense and revamped their offensive line.

They have a very good quarterback, and even though they did lose Keenan Allen, Austin Ekeler, and Mike Williams, they added a talented prospect in Ladd McConkey, a veteran like Gus Edwards, and there’s still a chance that Quentin Johnston bounces back in his second year.

Coach Harbaugh is a winner.

He’s been a winner everywhere he’s been.

It definitely won’t be easy, and the AFC is more stacked with talent than ever.

But when you have a good head coach, a solid defense, and a star at quarterback, anything is possible.
