Colin Cowherd Names NFL HC On The Hottest Seat

The New York Jets are facing a crucial campaign.

Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas have pushed all their chips to the center of the table, and they desperately need things to work out this time around.

That’s why, per Colin Cowherd, there’s no coach with a hotter seat in the entire league than Saleh right now.

Talking on The Herd, he argued that all coaches start coaching differently when they know their jobs are in jeopardy because they know that owners are watching them, and that usually leads to mistakes.

“I think there’s no question… The pressure is on Robert Saleh.”

He pointed out Brandon Staley as an example last season, as he went away from his uber-aggressive instincts late in the season and the Los Angeles Chargers became uber-passive instead.

He thinks that Aaron Rodgers is most definitely not going to take the blame if things go south, and he’s not so sure about that revamped offensive line because all the players are either too old or too young.

Cowherd also showed concerns about Nathaniel Hackett, especially considering the Jets were reportedly eager to hire Arthur Smith to ‘babysit him’ with play-calling.

He also pointed out that none of the teams that made the playoffs last season had coaches on the hot seat, and the fact that they have two legitimate threats in their own division in the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins only makes things more complicated.

It’s make-or-break time not only for the Jets but also for Saleh, who some believe has survived and kept his job long enough as it is.
