The NFC is arguably the weaker of the two conferences in the NFL right now, with only a handful of teams considered to be legitimate Super Bowl title contenders for the upcoming 2024 campaign at this point in the offseason.

The San Francisco 49ers had an incredible season in 2023, during which they discovered that quarterback Brock Purdy is the real deal and that the team is potentially the best all-around squad in the league.

Along with the 49ers, the Detroit Lions emerged as a title contender during this past season, as Dan Campbell and company proved that the 2022 NFL season was no fluke and the future is potentially bright for a franchise that has desperately sought success for decades.

Although the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers were a force to be reckoned with in the regular season, it was the Lions and 49ers that proved to be the best of the best in the conference when it was all said and done with Purdy leading his team to the Super Bowl to take on the Kansas City Chiefs.

Even though both of these teams underwent some changes during the offseason, it could be argued that these two teams will be the cream of the crop in the NFC once again next season, as Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports believes they have the two best rosters via The Herd of Colin Cowherd.

“Toe-to-toe, the two best rosters easily in the NFC are San Francisco and Detroit,” Cowherd said.

A lot can happen between now and the start of the 2024 NFL season, with the NFL Draft having yet to take place and some game-changers still on the free-agent market.

However, it would be a safe bet to assume the Lions and 49ers will be going head-to-head once again in the NFC Championship Game.
