Colin Cowherd is never one to shy away from a strong take, and he has been notoriously critical of the Los Angeles Lakers during their recent head coaching search.
On today’s episode of “The Herd,” Colin ranked what he believes to be the top 10 most attractive head coaching destinations in the NBA, and Lakers fans might want to cover their ears for this one.
Cowherd had the Boston Celtics as the most attractive head coaching gig, followed by the Denver Nuggets, Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, San Antonio Spurs, and Golden State Warriors, leaving the Lakers out of the top ten entirely.

It’s tough to even dispute this, as all of these teams have players who are better building blocks and much younger than anything the Lakers have to offer, while LeBron James is about to turn 40 and it is unclear what the future holds for him.
Given the way the Lakers have cycled through coaches in recent years and the uncertain long-term future of the team’s stars, there is little to no job stability in LA, especially after the team canned Darvin Ham after two years and a Western Conference Finals appearance.
Frank Vogel led this team to a championship in 2020 and even he couldn’t survive the axe, so what has this organization done to inspire confidence from a potential hire?
Yesterday, it was reported that UConn head coach Dan Hurley rejected the Lakers’ head coaching job offer, leaving JJ Redick and James Borrego as the perceived top remaining candidates.
