The New York Knicks and All-Star point guard Jalen Brunson recently agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension worth $156.5 million.
That is actually $113 million less than what Brunson could have signed for next offseason, but he chose to take a team-friendly deal.
Fox Sport’s Colin Cowherd recently chatted about Brunson’s decision to take less to help out the Knicks.
“This is what leadership looks like,” Cowherd said on The Herd.

The 27-year-old is truly setting an example for younger players.
If you want to be great and have a desire to win a championship, you may have to take a pay cut.
Brunson completely understands that and is willing to do whatever it takes to help put his team in a great situation.
As Cowherd also illustrated, the Knicks have added some of Brunson’s old Villanova teammates to the fold.
That includes the likes of Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo, and now Mikal Bridges.
Remember, this group became champions together at the college level, and they are now hoping to do the same in the NBA.
The team also has All-Star forward Julius Randle and All-NBA Defender OG Anunoby in the fold to round out the roster.
Tom Thibodeau’s team is starting to take shape.
Of course, it starts and ends with Brunson.
