With the Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers, and Las Vegas Raiders all reportedly keeping tabs on Jim Harbaugh, analysts and pundits have jumped to conclusions about the potential best fit for the renowned coach.
While he hasn’t announced that he’s going to leave Michigan, everybody around the football industry believes it’s just a matter of time before he makes that decision.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Colin Cowherd took to his show, via The Volume on Twitter, to explain why he believes the Commanders are the best possible fit for him.
For starters, he has a serviceable QB in Sam Howell, who could start the season while they get a rookie signal-caller ready to take the reins.

He also pointed out the fact that they have the most cap space, plenty of talent on both sides of the field, and the No. 2 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, so they could take Drake Maye and make him their next franchise QB.
He believes that gives them the upper hand over the Chargers, as Justin Herbert will get paid plenty of money, whereas Maye will have a rookie-scale salary.
On top of that, he thinks the proximity to his family could also play a major role in his decision, all but making it an even easier choice for him.
The Commanders have new ownership that’s willing to spend big bucks to take the team to the mountaintop, and Harbaugh could get a huge paycheck to be the guy that takes this team back from the ground.
