This week has been very rough for Patrick Beverley of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Not only did his team lose in the opening round of the playoffs, but he was also banned from ESPN after bizarrely snubbing a reporter who didn’t subscribe to his podcast.
Beverley also got himself into trouble for throwing a basketball at heckling fans in the closing moments of the final game against the Indiana Pacers.
Colin Cowherd thinks the basketball incident is going to cost Beverley quite a few games when the new season kicks off in several months.
On Twitter, Cowherd wrote:
“A player throws a ball at a player he may get a one game suspension. At a ref, could be closer to five. At a fan, expect half a season. It crosses a line that is NOT REMOTELY acceptable. Can’t even compare it, to player on player aggression, and teams/leagues don’t.”

Half a season would be a massive suspension for Beverley and would send a strong message to the rest of the league.
The NBA will crack down on players who fight or argue too much.
But when they lash out at fans, it’s a whole different story and the punishment will be very severe.
There aren’t too many instances of players fighting fans or throwing things at them.
But whenever something like this happens, the league cracks down right away.
Beverley has apologized for his actions during the game but the damage has been done and a suspension is definitely on the way.
The league is currently investigating Beverley’s actions and they will rule on the matter shortly.
Will Cowherd be right and will the Bucks star miss half of the season because of what he did?
