The Chicago Bears won a divisional game on Monday, but other than playing spoiler for the Minnesota Vikings, there wasn’t much of an incentive to compete.

That’s true for the organization but not for Justin Fields.

Fields is unlikely to stay in the Windy City for another season, which is why NFL analyst Colin Cowherd believes he’s currently auditioning.

Per Cowherd, Fields is good enough to get a second chance in the league, as he’s talented, and multiple QB-needy teams could be tempted to take a chance on him, which is why the Bears have him out there to try and drive his trade value up.

Cowherd stated that few quarterbacks have been able to turn things around after an erratic start to a career, and he just doesn’t believe Fields is quite there.

He thinks that his health and consistency issues have made the Bears look ready to move on, and that’s perfectly fine.

The Bears are likely going to have two picks in the top five, and with USC star QB Caleb Williams available, they would be wise to use one of those selections to try to get him.

Fields has shown glimpses of great play and can obviously make plays with his feet, but his team never used him to the best of his capacities.

He was an elite prospect in both high school and college, so the talent is clearly there, and perhaps all he needs is a change of scenery to finally fulfill his true potential.
