There is an odd little war brewing between Colin Cowherd and former NBA star JJ Redick.
Earlier this week, Cowherd lambasted Redick’s wardrobe choice, saying he couldn’t take him seriously as a potential head coach because he wears a backward hat.
That touched a nerve with a lot of people, who pushed back against Cowherd’s opinion.
But he isn’t relenting and defended his opinion on his show Thursday, telling Redick, “To turn your life around, you have to first turn your hat around.”

Cowherd said that Redick has great talent and will likely have a very bright future in the league.
He can see him running an NBA team soon, perhaps even the Los Angeles Lakers, if recent rumors are to be believed.
But Cowherd thinks that Redick’s backward hat shows a lack of respect and formality.
This isn’t the first time that the sports analyst has spoken about hats, oddly enough.
He has repeatedly voiced his view about sports stars wearing them after games and during press conferences.
In Redick’s defense, he had his hat on during a casual recording of his podcast with LeBron James.
It wasn’t as if he was speaking in front of the media or on national television.
But that doesn’t matter to Cowherd and he believes that it casts Redick in a bad light.
Regardless of what Cowherd thinks, it seems clear that Redick is on his way to earning his first head coaching job in the league.
He was apparently in the running for the Charlotte Hornets position but missed out on that, while there is still speculation that he could lead the Lakers next year.
Even if he doesn’t receive that position, the league is obviously interested in adding Redick as a coach, regardless of how he wears his hat.
