The New York Jets entered the 2023 NFL season as one of the most exciting teams to watch as the young roster full of stars would have a future Hall of Famer in Aaron Rodgers under center.

The Jets signaled to the rest of the league that they believed in their roster by going all-in on Rodgers who stated his desire to play for the team in the offseason.

After over half a year of waiting, New York fans finally got to see Rodgers take the field for his first official regular season game but his debut lasted only a few plays as he suffered a lower-body injury and had to come out.

Disaster struck the Jets organization when Rodgers was diagnosed with a ruptured Achilles and would be forced to miss the remainder of the season.

Without Rodgers, Zach Wilson came in and was able to lead New York to victory but the franchise has been searching for veteran signal callers to come in and help.

There are several options available, but Colin Kaepernick took the initiative to throw his hat in the ring via Jordan Schultz.

Kaepernick has been trying for years to get back into the league and this could represent his best chance yet as he’s the type of quarterback that Robert Saleh is familiar with.

Kaepernick has held workouts the past few offseasons to show he can still play, but it remains to be seen how effective he actually still is.

For now, New York will be sifting options and could make a decision in the coming weeks.
