The Indianapolis Colts are continuing to add help for second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson.

According to insider Ari Meirov, the team has recently signed veteran receiver and former first-round draft pick Laquon Treadwell.

The former All-American at Ole Miss will now be joining the eighth different team of his career (including practice squads).

In fact, the Colts will be his eighth different team in the last six years.

Treadwell has not exactly lived up to his NFL potential after becoming a star in the SEC, but the Illinois native has continued to fight to keep his NFL career alive.

He has 111 career receptions for 1,242 yards and five touchdowns.

Despite most notably playing with the Minnesota Vikings for the first four years of his career, Treadwell’s best season as a pro came with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021.

He caught 33 passes for a career-best 434 yards and a touchdown that year.

It remains to be seen whether or not he will have a good chance to make the 53-man roster when training camp and the preseason are over.

In the receiver room in Indy sits star wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr., second-round draft choice AD Mitchell, talented second-year receiver Josh Downs, and veteran Alec Pierce.

Treadwell, at the very least, should have an opportunity to compete for a roster spot if he plays solid football.

At 29 years of age, he will be the oldest receiver on the team in camp, which is why he could be an asset to head coach Shane Steichen with all of the offensive systems that he has played in.
